The Council for Scholarship and Inquiry (C.S.I.) at Florida Atlantic University is a student organization established by the Student Council for the University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). FAU is seeking reaffirmation of accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). This process is already underway and will be finalized in 2013. As part of this process, a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) will propose the enhancement of educational quality at FAU beyond 2013. The overall QEP topic that was chosen at FAU is Undergraduate Research and Inquiry. The primary aim of FAU’s QEP is to integrate and expand a culture of research, inquiry and creative activity into our programs here through curricular, co-curricular and honors initiatives.
C.S.I. is open to all FAU students in any department. The purpose of the FAU C.S.I. is to promote and foster a culture of research and creative activities at FAU and to provide students with opportunities to become immersed in this culture. Focused at the undergraduate level, but including graduate students, opportunities sponsored by C.S.I. will consist of establishing and maintaining an annual FAU Undergraduate Research Journal (FAURJ), peer mentoring and peer advising programs, and journal and scholarship/grant writing workshops.
Our goals include:
- To promote the existing culture of undergraduate research at FAU across as many disciplines as possible
- To enhance scholarship, creativity, critical thinking and academic excellence of undergraduate students at FAU
- To encourage and foster school pride and unity at FAU
If you would like to join C.S.I. and get involved in research at FAU or just learn about some fun scholarly opportunities at FAU and beyond send us an e-mail at email@example.com! We look forward to hearing from you!
